Description

The Wedding couple is a stone carving from the Swedish village, Tanum, 100 km north of Gothenburg.

The Couple is still in love after 3500 years of marriage. The Vitlycke-Statue is a token of fruitfulness. They kiss. The tie between their knees is a willow. That symbolises their walk in life in rhythm.

They walk the 660 meters or about 1000 bronze-age yards to the stallar or the cult stone to become wed. The wedding took place in front of 9 witnesses. His sheath keeps a blend of the best barley seeds and his semen to be spread on the holy fields to give good harvest and peace.

“Ars og Frithur”

The statue is made by Knyaz Rikard.
